OASIS is run by one person in Burton, Michigan. Every message on this page comes straight to me, and I read all of them.

Policy changes constantly and one person cannot catch all of it, so if a post is out of date where you live, telling me is a real contribution to everyone who reads it next.

What to expect

I answer as quickly as I can, usually within a few days. If something is urgent, please do not wait on me. Call your state Protection and Advocacy agency, your local Community Mental Health office, or 988 if someone is in crisis.

What I cannot do

I am a parent and an advocate, not an attorney, a doctor, a benefits counselor, or a case manager. Nothing on this site is legal, medical, or financial advice, and I cannot represent you, intervene in your case, or tell you what your specific situation requires. What I can do is help you understand how the system is built, what it owes you, and which door to knock on next.
