Oasis For Autism
From The Heart

These essays are written by caregivers, and they are published without names.

That is deliberate. A mother describing the worst night of the year should not have to calculate whether her son’s case manager will read it on Monday morning. The anonymity here is structural. Identifying details come out before publication. The specifics that matter stay in, because a vague essay helps nobody.

Nothing in this series is inspirational. Nobody is a warrior. Nobody is on a journey. These are accounts of what it looks like when the services end and the day still has fourteen hours in it.

If you want to write one, the button below takes a pseudonym, an email address, and whatever you have to say. You do not have to be a writer. You have to have been there.
