How this site is organized
There are more than 170 articles here, filed two ways. By question, which is the Start Here row at the top of every page: Who, What, Where, When, Why, How. And by topic, which is the list further down this page.
If you are new to this and short on time, go by question. If you already know what you are looking for, go by topic.
The categories doing most of the work
Michigan-Specific covers state policy and what has been cut. Medicaid covers the waivers, eligibility, and the service array that almost everything else depends on. Adult Transition is the years around 18 and 26, when school services end. Waiting Lists is how long the wait actually runs and how states count it.
Community Living Supports is the in-home service that decides whether an adult leaves the house. Documentation Strategies is how to build the record that gets services approved. Workforce Crisis is why an approved service still has nobody to deliver it. Legal Developments is the cases and settlements that establish what families can demand.
Level 2/3 Autism is written for high support needs specifically. Policy Analysis takes apart the rules themselves. How-To Guides is step by step, with the forms named. Advocacy Resources holds the templates, trackers, and tools.
